Each group features 2 colorways of a beautiful Geisha print with 9 coordinating prints. We are looking forward to 4 more groups. We are reserving fat quarters for our Fuji Fat Quarter Club. BLOCK OF THE MONTH PROJECTS

PIECEFUL NIGHTS SAMPLER - We are offering this Block of the Month in your choice of two colorways. Choose between Black & White (with a splash of red) or Neutrals. Each kit will include the pattern and the fabric for that month's block.
We still have a few sets of blocks from each colorway available. Come by and see these beautiful blocks.
We began a new wool applique quilt in April - Shades of Baltimore. We will be using hand dyed wool fabrics on flannel background. We are starting to display these charming blocks.

We are also in the process of selecting an applique Block of the Month project that will begin later in the year. We will send information in time for you to sign up.

UFO DAY We will again be scheduling some dates for working on your unfinished projects. Bring the knitting or quilting project of your choice, Cliff will serve lunch and you can spend the day stitching. Cost $10. These days fill early so don't wait to call and reserve your spot. Dates to be emailed later.

SMALL STITCH GROUPS - This is a way for you to make your own UFO Day for your small stitch group. Call Cliff for a date to bring your stitch group of 8 to 12 people for a day of stitching and chatting and Cliff will serve lunch.

Class Schedule

May, June, July & August  2008

Reasons for taking classes:
Great Fun! Inspiration! Learn new techniques! Cliff's lunch!

*CHARMING OLD MAID: - Thur. - May 8 or Sat. - June 14
Taught by Katha Carter
From "Simply Charming Two" - This classic block has several names. This is a very versatile block. You may want to play around with the layout and rotation of the blocks. Charming Old Maid works well with a background that has a good contrast from the charm pack you choose. If your charm squares contain a lot of light and medium colors you might prefer a dark background. BEGINNER FRIENDLY!

*LOG CABIN SWIRL: - Sat. - May 17 or Fri. June 20
Taught by Pam

The second in the "hand applique by machine" projects from Sager Creek. Pam will guide you through the process of preparing your applique foundation (the applique pieces are die cut for class members) and the basics of stitching the applique using your sewing machine. The blocks surrounding the applique are log cabin blocks. Use your favorite Jelly Roll - Charm Square combo to make fabric selection quick and easy (or of course you can cut your own 2 1/2" strips and 5" squares.)

*WINNER'S BOUQUET: - Thur. - June 26 or Sat. - July 26
Taught by Katha Carter
This fun quilt uses curved seams. You will be amazed at how simple they can be! Katha will guide you through this new pattern from Atkinson Designs (which includes acrylic templates for rotary cutting) with clear, easy to follow instructions. This scrappy quilt could be made using the new Layer cakes or choose your favorite fat quarters.

*STACKED STAR: - Fri. - July 11
Taught by Pam
We will be using Marti Michelle's template set "A" to cut the triangles and squares needed. Simple alternate blocks help showcase these simple blocks that only look complicated. Using these templates makes cutting the pieces fast and easy. The triangles fit together so well you will have them sewn with ease.

*APPLIQUE SAMPLER: - Fri. - June 27 or Sat. Aug 23
Taught by Pam
This class will feature several methods of applique including machine and hand techniques. This class is perfect for beginners and is intended to give class participants a "taste" of various methods while making a simple project. We will be using a kit in class to make the best use of class time.

*SATIN STITCH APPLIQUE: - Sat.  - May 10  -  or Fri. - June 13

Taught by Karen Swenson

Karen will teach you the tips you need to make great looking Satin Stitch Applique. We will be using large scale florals to do "Broidery Perse" Applique. You can use this piece for a small quilt or for the centerpiece of a larger project.

*WATERFALL: - Thur. - June 12 or Sat. - June 28
Taught by Katha Carter
Diagonal lines of light fabric cascade gently through an assortment of dark prints to create this quilt. Though the pattern looks complicated, the blocks are easily created by cutting segments from just 2 different strip sets. BEGINNER FRIENDLY!

*QUILTED FABRIC COLLAGE: - Sat. - July 12 - $35.00
Taught by Candace Dove
Create a floral fabric "collage" using scraps of material without using adhesives or bonding materials. The finished piece can be stretched on a canvas, framed or just simply bind the edges and hang. Candace has been creating fabric art for the past 5 years and has designed pieces from small to very very large. You don't have to be "artsy" to be creative. Candace will guide you through the steps to make a rooster or a tree. Come see a sample!

CURVES AROUND THE RECTANGLE: - Thur. - July 24 or Thur. - Aug. 14
Taught by Katha Carter
For this project, start with a rectangle cut from a gorgeous panel or large-scale print. Add blocks with gradual curves to create a quilt with beauty and movement. The curves are easy to make and add some rectangles for great borders.

DIAMONDS WITH A TWIST: - Thur. - June 19 or Sat. - Aug. 9
Taught by Katha Carter
Pick a beautiful focal fabric. Add 2 complimentary colors to frame your block with an innovative and easy twisted diamond setting. Stand back and wait for the compliments.

*SNOW WONDERLAND: - Sat. - July 19 or Wed. - July 30
Taught by Pam

Two simple blocks make this charming Christmas throw. The class sample is from Red Rooster's "Snow Wonderland" line and has a "primitive" look or you can use your favorite red and green fabrics to make this cozy quilt.

*LEMOYNE STAR: - Thur. - Aug. 21 or Sat. - Aug. 30
Taught by Pam
Are you intimidated by the dreaded "Y" seams? We will be using Marti Michelle templates for cutting the pieces. Precise cutting along with the tips and tricks you will learn in class will have you making these "Y" seams with confidence.

*FREE MOTION QUILTING: - Tue. - June 17 or Sat. - Aug. 16
Taught by Pam
Do you lack the confidence to machine quilt your unfinished projects. Come learn some free-motion techniques to get you started. You can use a pre-printed panel or a small pieced quilt for the class. We will discuss basting, choosing quilting patterns, and practice some basic patterns.

*RED DAWN: - Wed. - May 28 or Sat. - May 31
Taught by Katha Carter

Because this quilt is constructed entirely of squares and rectangles, the construction techniques are easy. You will be making five different block combinations of the 7 or 8 different fabric prints in your quilt. Katha will help you organize your fabrics to make it easy to identify the different components that you need for each block.

*BERNINA BASICS 1 & 2: Fri. - July 18
This class is for those who have purchased Bernina sewing machines from Sager Creek.
