Improv Quilts for Beginners - Taught by Robin Bodishbaugh
Improv for Beginners Class - taught by Robin Bodishbaugh
Are you ready to make a quilt without using a pattern? Start by learning a few tricks about how to pull together a palette of solid colors that will make your quilt sing. Then make various stripes, triangles, and other simple pieced elements, cut them up, and arrange them in a way that’s all your own. Your finished quilt will be one of a kind, unique in its color combination, shapes, arrangement, and/or character.
Over the course of four classes, we’ll learn/review the basics of color and value and select a palette of solid fabrics. Then at home, we’ll sew those fabrics into stripes, chevrons, plaids, triangles, dots and other components. After class 1, we’ll bring our sewn pieces to class and play on design boards to arrange a pleasing layout that will be sewn together at home. The goal will be to make a small quilt top by the end of Class 4 or have a solid idea of the general direction the quilt will take.
We will meet 4 TUESDAY MORNINGS
Class fee includes the Improv Quilting book as well as the 6 yards of fabric for your kit (which you will be choosing during the first session) for the 4 SESSION class. Class size is limited so sign up SOON!
